Your first Korean skincare routine
A useful routine starts with a clear purpose—not a long shopping list.
If Korean skincare feels overwhelming, start with the step you need. Keep products that already work for you. A coordinated shelf is optional; a comfortable, understandable routine is the point.
1. Begin with cleansing
A rinse-off cleanser is the first step in this edit. Follow the pack directions, rinse thoroughly, and keep the product away from your eyes. Do not keep washing to chase a tight or squeaky feeling.

2. Add a serum only if you want that step
A serum sits between cleansing and moisturising. Start with one new product, follow its label, and give yourself time to notice how your skin responds. You do not need to buy every serum in a range.

3. Finish with moisturiser
Use a moisturiser after your serum, or after cleansing if you prefer a shorter routine. Adjust the amount to your preference while following the label.

What about the morning?
Use appropriate sun protection separately, following that product’s instructions. The cleanser, serum and moisturiser in this edit are not sunscreens. Reapplying moisturiser does not replace reapplying sunscreen.
Before a new product touches your skin
- Read the ingredient list on the actual pack and avoid known allergens.
- Introduce one new product at a time, rather than a whole new routine overnight.
- Follow label precautions and patch-test first. A patch test cannot guarantee that irritation will never occur.
- Stop use if irritation occurs. Persistent or severe symptoms need advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
